Aerobic exercise supports your aerobic system as you continue to work out on regularly basis. Your aerobic system refers to your heart, lungs, blood vessels and muscles. Regular exercising at a specific level and for a certain time will help increase your ability to take in, transport and use oxygen for exercise, so improving your 'aerobic capacity'.
For better results, depending on your health condition, work out at least 20 to 60 minutes a day, five times a week. Listen to your body, if it allows you to continue for more than 20 minutes, do. But if it doesn't, rather divide your time into three sessions a day.
Alternatively, you can use an exercise machine that monitors your heart rate. Although expensive, pulse monitors are very convenient, but are accessible in sophisticated Gyms that have convenient facilities.
